Personalized Health care and Medicine

Updated: Sep 9, 2020

We have been developing a personalized healthcare system for people to gather their own health data from different sensors, such as smart watch, blood pressure sensor, heart rate sensor and ECG sensor. Users can visualize them, relay to their physicians or fitness trainers for them to perform basic analysis of their health conditions and to give advices on medical or training programs. A prototype has been completed and tested.

We are currently collaborating with the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the Prince of Wales Hospital to develop a wearable and ultraportable ECG sensor prototype such that patients can monitor the ECG signal of their own continuously, which can be used for early heart diseases screening. We have tested the performance of the ultraportable ECG sensors by comparing the acquired data to that from commercial ECG machine. These ultraportable ECG sensors showed promising results and their performances are approved by two cardiac experts. We are now working with Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) and collecting ECG data from inpatients (with heart failure, hypertension, coronary artery disease, or myocardial infarction) in PWH. Other projects related to Healthcare includes:
